Damon and Darcie Morton will be the NSW/AUS athletes competing at IBU Junior Cup No 3. The IBU Junior Cup circuit was a great success for the Morton duo in 2015-16 with Damon finishing 7th in Junior Cup No 3 at Lenzerheide (SUI).
This will be the Morton's first race event of Trimester 2 after illness curtailed their plans to race at IBU Cup No 4 in Martell (ITA). The Junior Cup will be a good warm-up for Damon's plans to compete at Biathlon World Championships commencing 8 Feb and Darcie's Asian Winter Games campaign.
Damon and Darcie will team up to represent AUS in the single mixed relay and contest 2 sprint events.
The venue at Pokljuka (SLO) is in a forested high plateau in the Julian Alps near the tourist city of Bled. It is the largest closed forest area in the Triglav National Park and at a height ranging between 1000 to 1400m.
