East Gippsland Biathlon Club - Active Snowy Kids Community Building Program

(in conjunction with NSW Biathlon Association and Biathlon East Australia)   

EGBC is running weekly Club training in Term 2 each after school at the Marlo Primary School as an Active Snowy Kids Community Building Program.

The program is part of the 2022 Biathlon East Australia / East Gippsland Biathlon Club Community Building programs.  The event will be run under the Victorian Government requirements for COVID19 safe sport. 

Dates: Thursday 28th April, Thursday 5th May, Friday 13th May, Wednesday 18th May, Wednesday 25th May, Tue 31st May, Tue 7th June, Tue 14th June, Thursday 23rd June

Start time: From 3.30pm to 5.00pm

East Gippsland Biathlon Club Membership

EGBC Membership is required for the program for Child Safe and insurance requirements and  provides 12 month membership to Biathlon East Australia and access to all of it's member clubs programs.  For Juniors please select the Junior membership. For parents please choose Parent Membership. Please follow the link below and choose East Gippsland as your Club.

The program is suitable for those who would like to try XC skiing and Biathlon and for athletes who are keen to train towards representing their school in the Victorian / Australian XC Skiing Interschool Championships and Biathlon Interschools events. 

Coaching provided by local professional coach, Winter Olympic athlete / coach and local Secondary School teacher Cameron Morton.

Participants will require:

• own helmet 
• knee and elbow pads are recommended for new roller-ski athletes.  EGBC can provide limited sets
• boots, roller-skis, roller blades, poles provided by EGBC
• Laser rifles, mats, targets will be provided by EGBC where possible

You must bring  your own helmet and water bottle.

Please wear socks which will go over your ankles and up your leg for wearing of XC ski boots. Please wear warm and bright clothing suitable for physical actiivity

Cost:  Free (Value $35 per session). The program is a community building and bush fire/covid recovery initiative supported by Victorian Sport and Recreation.

Membership of East Gippsland Biathlon Club /NSW Biathlon/ Biathlon East Australia is included for insurance purposes.

Where: Marlo Tennis Club / Marlo Primary School or surrounding area

Commitment: For consistency and to provide continuity it is asked that participants register and commit to training each week for the Term.
