A Laser Biathlon Summer Series event is being held.  

(please register the name of the entrant.)

Date:  Sunday 3rd April 2022

Where:  Newington Armory, Sydney Olympic Park 

Bib Pick-up: from 8.30am at the Laser Biathlon Range  

Course Inspection and Laser Rifle Zero:   from 8.30am 

Event Start Time: 9.15am  

Cost: $25 per entry plus $5 use of  laser rifle

Entries Close:  Thursday 31 March 2022 at 11.59pm

Age Categories: Age categories will be for male and female

Under 10years, Under 12years, Under 14years, Under 16years , Youth (under 19years), Junior (under 22 years), Open, Masters 30years plus. 

Please book the age category you will be under by 31.12.2022 ie if you are turrning 14yrs in 2022, you are U16yrs. If you are turning 13yrs in 2022, you are U14yrs. 

Racing Format:  

  • Roller-skiing with poles   
  • Interval start with timing. 
  • Competitord 14 years and under will ski three loops and shoot 5 targets twice and shoot prone on standing targets.   
  • Competitors 16 years and under will ski three loops and shoot 5 targets twice.  
  • Competitors Youth and above will ski three loops and shoot 5 targets twice.
  • Youth and above age groups will shoot prone and standing targets.
  • 16 and under age groups will shoot prone on standing targets.
  • Distances  - roller-ski loops will be from 500m to 1.5km depending upon age.
  • Penalty loops for target misses, 14yrs and above 
  • Medals will be awarded to place-getters  

Laser Training Sessions:  Laser training sessions will be available on Sunday mornings at Newington Armory in the two weeks prior to the event. It is suggested competitors attend at least one training session to ensure familiarity with the laser biathlon system, the laser range and the loops to be skied.    

Course inspection and laser biathlon zeroing will be available prior to racing on Sunday 3rd April if you are unable to attend a training session in the 2 weeks earlier.  

Roller-Ski Competency : To enter the roller-skiing racing format, entrants should be competent on roller-skis.  

Safety Equipment: Helmets are mandatory to wear in the race and elbow pads and knee pads are recommended for newer roller-skiers. 

Equipment Hire: Hiring of roller-ski, boots and poles is available for the competiton. 

Poles $5

Any other equipment included Roller-skis  and Boots $10  / More than one item $10 maximum cost.

Please indicate your requirements when entering. 

Membership: You must be a member of NSW Biathlon to enter the Junior Series event. Day membership ($5) or annaul membership can be purchased from our Membership shop. 

Volunteer Officials: Biathlon racing requires volunteer officials to count target misses and to act as Course and Range Officials. Please indicate your availability to assist with officiating. Parents volunteering will be able to observe their children and others racing on the day.
