Biathlon ACT Roller Ski and Laser Biathlon  

(in conjunction with NSW Biathlon and Biathlon East Australia)

Biathlon ACT are holding roller-ski and laser biathlon sessions on Thursday afternoons at Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Circuit.

The program is aimed at all levels from Beginning to Performance Squad athletes.

Beginning athletes:  session will provide an introduction to laser biathlon and rollerskiing with a focus on developing technique. 

Squad Performance athletes:  session will facilitate training in an organised team environment with a focus on improving technique.

Masters: session will provide an opportunity to train and improve rollerskiing and shooting skills (using laser) together with improving fitness. 

Sessions will continue through Term 2 leading into the on-snow season.  

Program Dates:  28th April, 5th May, 12th May and 19 May, 26 May, 2 June 2022

Times: 4pm to 5.30pm

Participants will require:

• roller skis, poles, xc ski boots 
• helmet 
• knee and elbow pads are recommended for new roller-ski athletes
• Laser biathlon equipment will be provided

If you require equipment, please indicate your requirements when registering. Biathlon ACT has a limited supply of roller-skis and boots are available for use by attendees.

You must bring a drink(s), snack and wear sunscreen.

Cost:  $20 per week and a $5 laser hire fee will be included as a booking fee when registering.

About Darcie Morton - ACT Program Coach: 

Darcie Morton (aged 22) is Australia's No. 1 ranked biathlete.  Darcie has competed for a number of years representing Australia on the IBU World Cup and IBU Cup circuits while studying Medical Science at ANU.  Darcie is in her 3rd year at ANU and has considerable experience coaching at all levels.
