A biathlon training weekend is being held.

The Camp is being held as part of the 2019 NSW Biathlon and Biathlon ACT high performance and development programs.

Attendees will be supported at the AUSXC National roller-ski races, coached in roller-ski, biathlon laser and .22 shooting activities and technique.

Development athletes will have the opportunity to train alongside National and State Team biathlon athletes. 

The camp will be offering live-in accommodation and catering.

Arrangements:

High Performance Athletes - live in Camp for athletes targeting Winter Youth Olympics, IBU Junior Cup, IBU Cup, World Cup.

Development Athletes - are welcome to 'live in' with an accompanying parent or make own accommodation arrangements.

Specific sessions will be available for U12 and developing biathletes.

Friday 12th April:

Arrive Canberra Rifle Club from 12noon, supper available prior to 10pm arrival 

3.30pm - 5.00pm .22 biathlon training at Canberra Rifle Club

7.00pm Dinner Available for live in members if required

8.00pm Team meeting, dry fire, stretching

Saturday 13th April: 

8.30am AUSXC Rollerski Championships - Stromlo Forest Park

5.00pm .22 biathlon training at Canberra Rifle Club 

7.00pm  Dinner

Sunday  14th April:

7.00am Morning exercises - live in athletes

7.30am Breakfast - live in athletes 

8.00am - 10.00am .22 biathlon running and drills (high level) Canberra Rifle Club

10.30am - 12noon U12 and developing athletes laser running shooting, ski specific and fun agility activities

10.30am - 12.noon .22 biathlon developing level athletes running and ski specific drills 

12.30pm lunch

1.30pm - 3.30pm - Rollerskiing for high performance athletes 

3.30pm - 5.00pm - Rollerskiing technique and training for development athletes 

Camp End

Accommodation and Catering: Camp accommodation will be at the Canberra Rifle Club and includes separate female and male dormitory style accommodation, kitchen and bathrooms. Catering will be provided by Biathlon ACT.

Note: A small margin has been added to accommodation and catering costs for fundraising purposes.  Coaching fees for live-in athletes are being subsidised for Biathlon ACT, NSW Biathlon and affiliated Club members.

There will be a very supportive, open and mentoring culture on the camp to ensure all athletes are supported to achieve their very best.

Live in athletes to bring: Sleeping bag or single top sheet and doona, pillow case and pillows, torch, towel and other personal medications / toiletries

Equipment: Roller skis, boots, poles, biathlon rifle and accessories, ammunition. Laser rifles will be provided. 

A supply of equipment is available for those who do not have equipment. Please indicate your requirements when registering.

Biathlon club rifles are available for licensed shooters without their own biathlon rifle. Please indicate your requirements when registering. 

If you would like to try .22 biathlon shooting, try sessions will be available in upcoming weeks. Please lodge your EOI when registering.  

Cost: Different costs will apply depending upon sessions attended and equipment required.

13th April 2019

Sat 8.30am There is no cost for race support at AUSXC Roller-ski Championships for Biathlon ACT, NSW Biathlon and affiliated Club members.

Sat pm sessions  Afternoon and evening program $20 plus $5 laser or .22 rifle hire.

14th April 2019 

Sun  8.00am to 5.00pm $20 per session attended plus $5 laser or .22 rifle hire

Whole Camp Attendance including live-in at Canberra Rifle Club 

For athletes $200 - includes coaching, catering and accommodation commencing from Friday 12th April 2019

Package includes - Fri supper; Sat - breakfast, lunch, dinner; Sun - breakfast, lunch. Healthy snacks and fruit will be included. 

For parents $150 - includes catering and accommodation from Friday 12 April 2019  

.22 Biathlon session participants will be required to pay Canberra Rifle Club range fees ($15) and to bring their own ammunition. Please bring range fees on the day.
