A Biathlon program is continuing in the Southern Highlands and will include roller-skiing and laser biathlon.  The program is suitable for Interschool XC skiing and Biathlon aspirants.

In order for competent athletes to maximise their development, it is suggested they attend consecutive sessions on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Term 2 - the program will run for a further 6 weeks in Term 2 on a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, dates indicated below.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON 

• Developing and Beginners - Rollerskiing & Laser biathlon 3.15 - 4.30pm. 
• Competent and Developing Biathlon athletes - Rollerskiing & Laser biathlon arrival from 4.30 until 6.00pm.
• Competent and development session at 4.30pm will run for up to 90mins. Later arrivals (who may have been doing after school sport training) will focus on technique and laser shooting.  

THURSDAY MORNING 

• Rollerskiing and X C ski training - 7am - 8.15am. 

Location: Oxley College - 11-29 Railway Parade, Burradoo (up from the bus turn around)

Package Includes: Southern Highlands weekly training and attending Term 2 biathlon camps in Canberra and Jindabyne .

Also included is 50% discount to attend any training session in Sydney. 

Keen participants are offered discounted attendance at Term 1 Biathlon holidays camps in Canberra and Wodonga. 

More Detail:

1) Access to 6 Southern Highlands Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning sessions in Term 2.                    1 and 2 May                        22 and 23 Maye 

8 and 9 May                       29 and 30 May     

5 and 6 June                      19 and 20 June

2) Access to Term 2 Jindabyne and Canberra Weekend Camps including the June long weekend (no cost).

3) 50% discount on attendance at any NSW Biathlon sessions in Sydney.

Membership - on-going participation in the Southern Highlands program requires membership to East Australian Biathlon Club (EABC) and NSW Biathlon Association for insurance coverage.

NSW Biathlon and EABC are part of Biathlon in East Australia, which includes joint membership to NSW Biathlon, Biathlon ACT , East Australian Biathlon Club (EABC) and East Gippsland Biathlon Club (EGBC).  

Membership as part of the Southern Highland package will run for 6mths. Participants who enter the NSW Laser Biathlon Junior Series on Monday 19 August at Perisher Valley receive 12mths membership of NSW Biathlon as part of their entry fee, which extends membership until Sept 2020.   

Cost including Membership 

1 Wednesday session per week - $210   

2 sessions Wednesday/Thursday per week - $270 

Note: a minimum of 10 participants across both programs is required for the program to run.

Laser Biathlon:  Laser biathlon equipment will be provided. Lighting will be provided on the laser range as necessary.

Roller Skiing: Rollerskis / boots / poles will be provided

What to Bring and Wear:   

i) Equipment for roller-skiing  - poles, helmet, boots, roller-skis, long socks for XC ski boots. 

Please indicate when registering equipment you may need. 

All athletes must have a helmet to roller-ski. Knee pads and elbow pads are recommended.

ii) Training clothing, including socks over the ankle for roller-skiing and covered running footwear for attending laser biathlon activities.  

iii) A drink bottle, hat, sunscreen for all sessions attended.
