NSW Laser Biathlon Summer Series Event 2 and Training Session

A Laser Biathlon Summer Series event is being held.

Date: Sunday 9 June 2019
Where: Little Thredbo Road, Lake Crackenback Resort.
Bib Pick-up: from 8.00am at the Laser Biathlon Range
Course Inspection and Laser Rifle Zero: from 8.15am
Event Start Time: 9.00am
Cost: $25 per includes use of laser rifle.
Entries Close: Thursday 6 June at 11.59pm
Age Categories: Age categories will be for male and female. Age is the age you are turning in 2019 as follows:
10yrs and under, 12years and under, 14years and under, 16years and under, Youth (17-18yrs), Junior (19-21yrs), Open, Masters 30years plus
Sport Class: A sport class will be included in each age category for new entrants to laser biathlon summer events or those with less competency on roller-skis. If you are interested in being considered for Sport Class please indicate when registering.
Racing Format:
- Roller-skiing or running can be selected.
- Interval start with timing.
- Competitors 16 years and under will ski or run three loops and shoot 5 targets twice, continuing to shoot until they hit 5 targets each time.
- Competitors Youth and above will ski or run 3 three loops and shoot 5 targets twice, skiing penalty loops for target misses.
- Youth and above age groups will shoot prone and standing targets.
- 16 and under age groups will shoot prone on standing targets.
- Distances - roller-ski loops will be from 500m to 1.5km depending upon age. Running distances will be between 200m to 400m depending upon age.
- Medals will be awarded to place-getters

Laser Training Sessions: Laser training sessions (30mins $5) will be available on Saturday 8th June 2019 at the Laser Range between 2.00pm to 3.30pm. It is suggested a training session is booked so you are familiar with using the laser biathlon system, the laser range and the loops to be skied or run.
A training session can be booked when registering for the race.
Course inspection and laser biathlon zeroing will be available prior to racing on Sunday 9 June, if you are unable to attend a training session.
Roller-Ski Competency : To enter the roller-skiing racing format, entrants should be competent on roller-skis. An alternative format of running and Sport Class is available to enter.
Safety Equipment: Helmets are mandatory to wear in the race and elbow pads and knee pads are recommended for newer roller-skiers.
Equipment Hire: Roller-skis, boots and poles are available for use in the race.
Please indicate your requirements when entering.
Membership: You must be a member of NSW Biathlon to enter the Junior Series event. Day membership ($5) can be purchased from our Membership shop.
Volunteer Officials: Biathlon racing requires volunteer officials to count target misses and act as Course and Range Officials. Please indicate your availability to assist with officiating. Parents volunteering will be able to observe their children and others racing on the day.
Further information on distances, racing formats and loop maps will be advised to entrants prior to racing.
