A training weekend is being held at the Canberra Rifle Club for U12 Mini Champs, Development / Masters and High Performance athletes.
The Camp is part of the 2019 Biathlon in East Australia high performance and development program and is supported by Biathlon ACT and NSW Biathlon.
The camp is recommended for athletes intending to race overseas in 2019 / 2020 season as part of the Biathlon in East Australia / NSW Biathlon Team.
Development athletes will have the opportunity to train alongside National and State Team biathlon athletes.
The camp will be offering live-in accommodation (own accomodation can also be sourced) and catering.

Activities: roller-skiing, laser and .22 biathlon shooting
Arrangements:
High Performance Athletes - live in Camp for athletes targeting Winter Youth Olympic Games, IBU Junior Cup, IBU Youth and Junior World Championships.
Development Athletes - are welcome to 'live in' with an accompanying parent or make own accommodation arrangements.
Mini Champs U12 - specific sessions will be available for U12 biathletes.
Masters - are welcome to 'live in' and join the Development .22 biathlon sessions. Competency in rollerskiing is required to join the rollerskiing sessions.
Catering will be provided for live in athletes and on request for other athletes.
Training Schedule:
Sessions will be structrued to run sequentually to cater for differing levels of athletes and availability of the Range at Canberra Rifle Club. Live in athletes to participate in team morning runs and evening sessions.
A minimum of three participants is required for each session to run.
Sessions can be attended as a whole camp package with accommodation & catering, individual sessions or for the full day.
All sessions commence at Canberra Rifle Club. Times may vary to best cater for needs of participants.
Thursday 3rd October:
Arrival at Canberra Rifle Club from 1.00pm, dinner and supper available prior to 7pm and 10pm respectively
1.30pm - 4.00pm High Performance Roller-ski skate technique
5.00pm - 7.00pm High Performance .22 biathlon Complex running
1.30pm - 3.30pm Development and Masters Roller-ski skate technique
5.00pm - 7.00pm Development and Masters .22 biathlon Complex running
3.30pm - 5.00pm U12 Mini Champs laser biathlon, ski simulation and running
Friday 4th October:
7.00am Morning run (live-in athletes)
7.45am - 8.30am Breakfast (live in athletes)
8.30am - 10.30am High Performance skating rollerskiing
10.30am - 12.30pm Development and Masters Skating Rollerskiing
10.30pm - 12.30pm U12 Mini champs Laser Biathlon and Skating rollerskiing
12.30pm - 1.30pm Lunch
2.00pm - 3.30pm Team Hill bounding and running U12 Mini Champs to Masters including High Performance and Development
5.00pm - 7.30pm Team .22 Biathlon skills & running complex; Development, Masters and High Performance at Canberra Rifle Club
7.30pm Dinner
8.30pm Team meeting, dry fire, stretching

6.30am Morning run (live-in athletes)

3.00pm - 5.00pm U12 Mini Champs laser biathlon followed by Classic rollerskiing (classic)
3.00pm - 5.00pm Development and Masters rollerskiing (skating)

8.00pm Team session, stretching and dry fire in Canberra Rifle Club rooms
Sunday 6th October:
6.30am Morning run (live-in athletes)
6.00am - 8.30am Breakfast (live in athletes)

9.30am - 12.00pm Development and Masters .22 Biathlon and running
10.00am - 12.00pm Mini Champs laser biathlon and ski specific running followed by rollerskiing (skating)

1.30pm - 3.30pm Team Rollerski classic tour
Camp End
Package accommodation and catering: Camp accommodation will be at the Canberra Rifle Club and includes separate female and male dormitory style accommodation, kitchen and bathrooms. Catering will be provided by Biathlon ACT.
There will be a very supportive, open and mentoring culture on the camp to ensure all athletes are supported to achieve their very best.
Live in athletes to bring: Sleeping bag or single top sheet and doona, pillow case and pillows, torch, towel and other personal medications / toiletries
Equipment: Roller skis, boots, poles, biathlon rifle and accessories, ammunition. Laser rifles will be provided.
A supply of roller-ski equipment is available for those who do not have equipment. Please indicate your requirements when registering.
Biathlon club rifles are available for licensed shooters without their own biathlon rifle. Please indicate your requirements when registering.
If you are new to . 22 biathlon shooting, development sessions are appropriate to attend and Club rifles are available to hire. Please submit your interest when registering.
Cost: Costs are varied and flexible. Attendance can be per session, per day or for the whole camp.
From $15 - $30 per session
$50 per day
$300 for whole camp live in (includes access to laser and/or .22 rifle, accommodation, catering)

For athletes $300 - includes coaching, catering and accommodation commencing from Thursday 3 October or Friday 4 October 2019
Package includes - Thurs lunch, dinner or supper on arrival; Fri/Sat - breakfast, lunch, dinner; Sun - breakfast, lunch. Healthy snacks and fruit will be included.
For parents $150 - includes catering and accommodation from Thursday 3rd October 2019
Lunch/dinners $10 per person available on request
.22 Biathlon session participants will be required to pay Canberra Rifle Club range fees ($15 adult, $9 U18) and bring their own ammunition. Please bring Range fees on the day.

High Performance - State and National Team athletes who are aiming to compete internationally in 2018/19
Development and Masters - developing and competent athletes of all ages who are learning fundamental skills and training to progress in XC skiing and Biathlon. Some will be planning to compete in citizen and championship races in 2019.
U12 and Mini Champs - U12 athletes for laser biathlon and those beginning in the sport
