Open European Championships (OECH) are being held in Dusznik Zdroj, Poland. The centre is located just over the Czech border approx 175km from Prague.
Duszniki Arena is one of the largest and most modern winter sports centres in Poland, and the home of the only fully professional biathlon facility. The centre was built in the 80s, complementing a wide range of sports facilities in the region. The Biathlon facility was built in 2001 and modernized in 2010. The stadium, the shooting range and the penalty loop are situated at 660m altitude.
Daniel Walker will be the only NSW/AUS athlete competing at OECH. Daniel will compete in the 10km Sprint and 20km Individual, aiming to achieve below 180 IBU qualifying points and join fellow NSW/AUS athlete Damon Morton at 2017 World Championships.
