2nd Talented Athlete and Try Biathlon Workshop Held
Published Fri 11 Oct 2019
It was a great afternoon of laser biathlon at the Mt Stromlo Criterium for the 2nd of our post winter Try Biathlon workshops. Offered within the ACT, the session was an introduction for many of the attendees to both laser biathlon and roller-skiing.
Biathlon ACT and 2016 Youth Olympian, Darcie Morton, led the session with a number of biathletes from the recent weekend training camp on hand to assist Darcie and share their knowledge and experiences on getting started in biathlon.
Agility drills using cones were set up to introduce the attendees to balance on roller-skis and fine turning skills. The laser biathlon system was used to involve the attendees the two skills which make up biathlon, speed on the snow skis or roller-skis and precision and calmness at the Range.
The attendees all thoroughly enjoyed their introduction and with some signing up to take part in the 4 week summer biathlon sessions being held by Biathlon ACT commencing on Monday 14th October 2019.
