April ACT Training Camp
Published Mon 30 May 2022
The April training camp was held in week 1 of the April/Easter school holidays. The camp took place at Canberra Rifle Club, Stromlo Forest Park, and utilised the roller-ski paths in Canberra. It was a great opportunity for the biathletes who attended to practise in multiple different environments and enhance their set of skills.
The first day of the camp, Monday the 11th April, was jampacked full of training. In the mornings there was performance, beginner, development, and masters .22 Biathlon training. It was wonderful to see athletes at different levels of experience participating. At 10:30, the juniors got to practise their shooting with the lasers. After a lunch break, the athletes were on the tracks with an all-abilities session on the roller skis. Tuesday followed a similar schedule, with the addition of a 22. Biathlon training session for the athletes competing in the ACT Biathlon 22. Championship the next day.
Wednesday and Thursday were race days for the Summer Series Championship events 2 and 3. Click HERE to read about the Summer Series Races. Thank you to the biathlon organisers who put the camp together and to our wonderful coaches for your time, skill and knowledge. Another fantastic training camp under the belt in 2022!
