Canberra Training Weekend
Published Tue 13 Nov 2018
The NSW Biathletes headed to Canberra for the weekend of 20 and 21 Oct to take advantage of the great training facilities in and around the ACT. Sessions included laser shooting, roller-skiing and for the athletes heading overseas for the international season, a strong focus on .22 biathlon shooting.
The Camp was a mixture of experienced, developing and masters biathletes with Head Coach Cameron Morton being able to structure the sessions to manage the different levels, ages and abilities.
The Camp show cased the family fun and all-round age appeal that is biathlon!
When the weather became challenging on Saturday afternoon, due to a huge storm, the flexibility of the lasers ensured the session was able to continue despite the rain, due to some quick creativity and conversion of the Gordon Family farm shed!
Athletes travelled from Sydney and Jindabyne to join their fellow Canberra biathletes for the Camp
Major thanks to the Gordon Family for their hosting of the Team and the use of their facilities.
Our next Canberra weekend will be 23 and 24 November where we will combine with ACT Biathlon for a joint training camp. This will also be the last training weekend for Archie Gordon, Isabella Moon and Lulu Miskin before they head off overseas.
