Champions of Victoria!

Published Fri 04 Aug 2017

Some great results by the NSW Biathletes at the 2017 Victorian Biathlon Championships.

Damon Morton, Darcie Morton and Lulu Miskin became 2017 Mass Start and Sprint Champions of Victoria at the Championships held on 22 and 23 July 2017.

The results were particularly pleasing for Lulu Miskin as this was her first on-snow biathlon race and she was racing a number of experienced Victoria biathletes.

Damon and Darcie Morton also performed extremely well as they are using these races as part of their training programs in the lead-up to the 2017-18 IBU season and Olympic qualifying races.

Isabella and Saskia Moon had great biathlon racing debuts with Saskia shooting 10/10 in the Sports Class Sprint race and Isabella showing her speed on skis to finish 2nd in each race despite her initial nerves in her first biathlon races.

Thanks of course to Coach Daniel Graf and Cameron Morton the team’s wax technician for the weekend.

Next up will be the Australian Biathlon Championships on 12/13 August 2017.
