Darcie Morton qualifies for World Championships!
Published Wed 19 Feb 2020
Competing in the Women’s 7.5km Sprint, Darcie finished 68th , 3.52.1mins behind with (2,0) scoring 168.59 IBU qualifying points. This is a PB for Darcie and a result under 180pts qualifies an athlete for World Championships.
We spoke to Darcie after the event and she told us:
“ I felt pretty good today. It has taken me a couple of weeks to get my health back after becoming sick 3 days before the Individual at World Juniors, so finally with my health back, I think today’s race was really positive. My skis felt good and the weather was perfect, quite hot actually, so apart from my misses in prone, I think my race went as good as it could be given the circumstances and just coming on a period of extended sickness.”
Darcie is now on her way home to Australia after completing her 2019-20 IBU season and being away since November 2019.
Great work Darcie and welcome home!
