First Snowy Camp for 2018 Held

Published Mon 11 Jun 2018

The Camp covered all aspects of biathlon including roller-skiing, .22 shooting, strength on skis and laser shooting. Great support was provided by the Berridale Snowy Shooters SSAA Range and Lake Crackenback Resort where 9 laser lanes were set up for local guests and NSW biathletes to hone their laser biathlon skills.

The Camp was especially important as it allowed biathletes from NSW regional areas, ACT and our East Gippsland members, to come together as a group to train and receive coach support. While our Sydney based biathletes receive such support weekly, there is not the same opportunities for our regional athletes and as we approach winter, it’s important to get closer to the snowfields to assist all NSW biathletes acclimatize and check out their biathlon facilities for winter

Thanks to coach Cameron Morton who traveled up from East Gippsland for the Camp, our ACT biathletes who traveled to Jindabyne and our Snowy Mountains supporters for getting behind the Camp by providing great facilities for our training.
