Great long weekend of Biathlon!
Published Fri 15 Jun 2018
The program covered all aspects of biathlon including roller-skiing, laser shooting, .22 shooting, strength and endurance. The only thing missing was snow!
Saturday focused on getting the roller-ski legs active with the afternoon was one of two sessions of .22 shooting for our State Team athletes ahead of their biathlon competitions at Mt Hotham over winter. Sunday was a great morning of laser biathlon held at Lake Crackenback Resort, with the laser rifles set up alongside a closed-off roadway, where the athletes where able to roller-ski into their shooting positions and practice their speed in getting down to their rifle.
The Camp finished with an early morning strength session on Monday to allow departure for homeward journey’s. Many thanks to coaches Lucy Glanville and Cameron Morton for their great program over the weekend, Damon Morton for his shooting technique coaching assistance, Saskia Moon for her coaching of our youngest roller-blader’s on Sunday and the great group of parents who provided the much necessary volunteer assistance and officials support for our Sprint race.
We’d also like to thank Lake Crackenback Resort and SSAA Snowy Shooters at Berridale for the use of their Range.
