Great results at the AUSXC Roller-Ski Championships

Published Sun 09 Apr 2017

NSW Biathletes attended the Australian Roller Ski Championships weekend with some great results and huge steps forward from their first championships results in April 2016.

Congratulations to Phoebe Cridland who stepped up to Open Competition and finished 2nd behind AUS Junior Cross Country champion Stella Ajani in both the Sprint and Distance events. Great work followed from Lulu Miskin and Izzy Moon who finished 1st and 3rd respectively in the U16 Girls Distance and Sprint events.

In the Men’s events, a huge effort from Archie Gordon in winning the Men’s Open Sprint and coming 3rd in the Men's Open  Distance event.

Other NSW athletes taking part included Bentley Walker-Broose and Dominic Cooper both using the event as a light training exercise given their recent return from overseas. Great work from Killian Kretzschmar and Saskia Moon in entering the events and continuing to develop their technique and speed on roller-skis.

A very big thank you to AUSXC for organizing the event as it provides an important measurement for biathletes to gauge the development of the XC skiing side of being a biathlete in a racing environment covering all age groups.
