Great results at the AUSXC Roller-Ski Champs
Published Tue 16 Apr 2019
Biathletes from NSW, ACT and Victoria delivered some great results at the Australian XC Roller-Ski Championships held at Stromlo Forest Park on Saturday 13th April, 2019.
Biathletes featured in all age groups and delivered some very strong results including Darcie Morton taking first place in both the Open Women’s Sprint and Criterium events.
Not to be outdone by her older sister, Damika Morton also took first place in both U12 Girl’s events along with NSW’s own pocket-rocket, Alberto Allan, taking first place in U12 Boys Sprint and Criterium.
Other great podium results included Edward Johnston and Archie Landon-Smith in the U12 Boys, Phoenix Sparke in the U16 Boys, Harriet Greville in the U16 Girls, Bentley Walker-Broose in the Open's Men together with Coach Cameron Morton, continuing to defy age (and grey hair!) picking up a 2nd in the Men’s Open Criterium and Sprint time-trial.

It was great participation from biathletes across Australia with 19 entrants from a total of 54 entrants (35%) engaging with biathlon both on-snow and for summer events and training. Biathlon is now building in a number of regions in NSW – including Sydney, Southern Highlands and Jindabyne. In ACT, programs are running every week with biathlon weekends also being held in Melbourne and East Gippsland.
