After a stellar Australian biathlon season during winter 2017, Saskia and Izzy Moon together with their parents Deborah and Dom, had a fantastic trip to Italy which included biathlon training and some holiday time. 

"Training overseas in Italy was an amazing experience," Izzy told us. "I met so many new people and trained in a completely different environment. The best part of my trip was exploring the town on my rest days with friends and going to the waterpark! I also loved the training and picked up lots of new skills especially in shooting technique."

With Saskia entering Year 12 this year at Tara Anglican School for Girls, she said " I’ve been studying a lot and writing notes for all my subjects to prepare myself for the HSC exams but I’ve also managed to fit in some training and catch up with friends." Saskia traveled to Europe for a holiday and to experience the European winter. 

Both girls will be back training in the next few weeks with their coach Lucy Glanville, Australia's 2014 Sochi Winter Olympian, who is now studying Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Technology.
