NSW Biathletes Back at the Range
Published Sat 12 Oct 2019
NSW biathletes have started back at the Malabar Anzac Rifle Range ahead of a number of athletes commencing their overseas tours to Europe from early November.
With the growth in biathlon interest over winter, 2 sessions are now being held each week commencing from 1pm and running for between 1hr to 2hrs, depending upon the athlete’s level of experience. Coaches include Damon Morton (Biathlon World Cup biathlete and 2018 Shadow Olympic Team member) and Lucy Glanville (2012 XC Youth Olympian and 2018 Biathlon Olympian).
Club biathlon rifles are available for use and we encourage biathletes and their parents who are keen to become more involved with biathlon to obtain their Minors Permit and .22 licence. NSW Biathlon is part of the Alpine Target Club for the purposes of biathlon shooting which ensures all NSW licencing protocols are observed as Alpine is a NSW Firearms Registry licensed shooting club. This means they are able to support biathletes with the required documents and paperwork for licencing in NSW and allows our coaches to focus on teaching biathlon safety and shooting skills.
For those interested in laser biathlon, summer sessions are held weekly and listed on our Events page.
