Some great results from the NSW biathletes at the NSW/ACT XC Sprints and Distance racing over the weekend of 20 and 21 July 2019.
The weekend involved a Classic Sprint on Saturday and a Distance Freestyle on Sunday, with the distances ranging from 1.5km to 7km for the older athletes. The races were a good opportunity for the biathletes to get their racing legs for 2019, ahead of a number of them racing at Mt Hotham in the Victorian Biathlon Championships the following weekend.
Conditions for both days were very good with light winds and sunshine. The classic waxing on Saturday was a bit of a challenge for all competitors after the sprint time-trial, as the weather warmed up for the heats and finals, with some athletes experiencing lack of grip or too much snow under the grip area of their skis.
All in all a most successful weekend of racing and congratulations to Alberto Allan, Dash Bouvier, Sean’Hope Craig, Jett Myatt, Jack Hirst, Harriet Greville, Isabella Moon, Emily McGregor, Sam Bylett, Archie Gordon, Ashton Chamberlain, Gary McGregor and Bentley Walker-Broose who all managed podium results over the weekend.
