On Snow Begins
Published Tue 04 Jul 2017
While the snow may be slow in coming, it hasn’t stopped the NSW Biathlon athletes strongly start their winter training program.
The athletes have been focusing on lots of dry-land activities and team building sessions. The lack of snow has not caused a great deal of concern for the coaches as they continued with roller-skiing endurance, strength in the gym and long runs.
At the end of our first week of training, Perisher kindly granted our athletes access to the early morning man-made snow at Smiggins and our many thanks to them.
As we commence week 2, Phoebe Cridland and Darcie Morton are attending the AUS Junior Team XC Camp in Falls Creek and the rest of the athletes are early morning skiing at Smiggins with afternoon roller-skiing. All eyes are on the weather forecast of up to 60cms of snow in the next 3 days.
