Shoosh for Kids!
Published Fri 30 Apr 2021
Shoosh for Kids is a collaborative effort between the NSW Office of Sport and State Sporting Organisations to promote positive behaviour at grassroots sport in NSW. This year NSW Biathlon has joined the Shoosh for Kids campaign and we want to spread the word!
The purpose of the campaign is to support grassroots sports in providing positive environments for athletes, parents and supporters, whilst also addressing issues which arise from poor behaviour including:
- Abuse to officials
- Reduced volunteer numbers
- Reduced participation rates (due to poor experiences/non-enjoyment/too competitive)
Shoosh for Kids' focus is to keep sport focused on fun so that kids continue to enjoy participating in sport. The general rule is, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything.
For the month of May, NSW Biathlon will be spreading the word to its members, spectators, athletes, parents, coaches and officials.
