Shooting Training at Anzac Rifle Range

Published Mon 13 Mar 2017

It was a great afternoon at the Anzac Rifle Range at Malabar for shooting training. Under sunny skies and virtually no wind, the athletes spent the majority of the session learning the very important skill of putting on/taking off their biathlon rifles from their back.

Once they had begun to master this initial skill, they shot 50 rounds of prone shooting on biathlon size standing targets.

It was very pleasing to be able to use 4 of the 10 new biathlon mats, NSW Biathlon will be using this winter at the Perisher Laser Biathlon Range which were able to be purchased thanks to a successful grant from the NSW Office of Sport.

Athlete Isabella Moon commented "It was a great training session today as we start to get ready for the ski season"

NSW Biathlon will be holding shooting training every week leading into the snow season. Please click here to register for next week.
