Summer Biathlon Well Underway
Published Tue 16 Mar 2021
Summer biathlon sessions have kicked off in Sydney, with weekly sessions being held since the start of February. Biathletes have been busy on their roller-skis, using the laser rifles and at the Anzac Range, gearing up for winter 2021.
Programs are running for Juniors, State Team/State Squad athletes and our ever-growing Master’s program. Focus has included technique on roller-skis with a special emphasis on hills during summer and leaning to focus and steady when coming into the Range and preparing to shoot.
At the Anzac Range, the biathletes have been well supported by NSW Rifle Association and our Club Alpine, with the proficiency of the biathletes as many now move into their 2nd season of .22, a tribute to strong coaching over the last 6 months and each athlete’s focus.
Term 2 programs after Easter will expand into Jindabyne, Canberra, Melbourne and East Gippsland as focus on the winter season will start with earnest.
