The Season Begins!

Published Sun 28 Jun 2020

The BEA athletes are training across a number of locations as the snow season begins. Currently the conditions are challenging across all biathlon venues due to the lack of snow which means skiing is taking place on the man-made snow and shooting on roller-skis or running/biking at the Range.

In NSW, programs on-snow have been rescheduled to commence in 5 days times, when snow is forecast to fall.

At Mt Hotham, our higher performance athletes are arriving at their training sessions which are involving early skiing on the man-made snow, a separate session at the Range and roller-skiing to round out some of the days. The program is varied and establishing the athletes for the season which will be quite different to normal seasons due to COVID19 and the protocols that are being followed to allow sport to recommence.

We wish the athletes well in their early season training and hope for some more snow soon!
