Carl Melvey was  a strong supporter of Biathlon in NSW. As the sport began to grow in NSW, Carl and Bonoona City Tattersalls Club provided great assistance to 2014 Sochi Winter Olympians Alex Almoukov and Lucy Glanville and more recently, Daniel Walker. Carl was a vigorous supporter of all skiing disciplines over the years and an unyielding champion of good sportsmanship and fair play.  

Carl was colourful, boisterous, generous to a fault and he adored his family.  And the cross country community adored him.  He will be missed and remembered with huge affection.
